ReVision for smaller churches (typically less than 75 in adult attendance) is a process designed to jump start positive momentum by clarifying mission and equipping the pastor and leadership team with practical action steps to get moving in the right direction, based on their context and condition.
The core components of this ReVision process are …
- ReVision Presentation: The ReVision coach-facilitator will conduct a 90-minute conversation with the Pastor and the church’s Board (decision-making body). This includes an assessment, an in-depth presentation of the process, and a time for questions. A formal vote of affirmation is required to engage this ReVision process.
- Coaching: The Pastor must commit to being coached for 12 months, as he/she leads the team and congregation through this process and gains momentum.
- Commitment to Prayer and Bible Study: This is an organized weekly prayer time, led by the Pastor, combined with the study of our recommended resource.
- Pastor’s Retreat: This is a time for the pastor’s personal renewal and preparation to lead the process. This retreat is done with a cohort of pastors, each leading a similar church. If a cohort is not available, this can be done in a 1-on-1 setting with the coach-facilitator.
- Pray & Preach Campaign: This is an all-church prayer campaign (8 weeks) that ends with a well-organized prayer vigil. Focused prayer is accompanied by a recommended sermon series the Pastor will preach to help prepare the church for ReVision.
- ReVision Leaders’ Retreat: The ReVision Leaders Team (RLT) – recruited by the Pastor – will have an overnight retreat, coached by a trained facilitator.
- Plan Implementation: The Pastor will lead the team, and subsequently the church, in implementing the plan as he/she is supported through coaching
- Celebrate Wins: This is critical to creating culture and gaining momentum. Churches that are struggling must learn to identify the wins and celebrate them, no matter how “small” the win seems to be.
